Pedestrian Safety Simulator was made as a final project for the Media Arts and Design class (Spring 2023, Crystal Beiersdorfer) at the University of Chicago. It was intended as a satirical response to a "Pedestrian Safety Week" initiative by the University administration, aiming to point out the absurdity of blaming students for getting hit by reckless drivers.
I worked on Pedestrian Safety Simulator with Isaac Berman. I created all of the 2D and 3D assets for the project. We worked on the project for two weeks for the class submission and spent an additional week of work on it afterward polishing and adding additional features.
My Contributions:
Designing missions, mechanics, and overall game structure
3D modeling and texturing playable character, flag, safety sign, and cars using Blender
Rigging and animating main character and cars in Blender
Importing and mapping Mixamo animations onto playable character
Modeling and optimizing Hyde Park model using Blender, CADmapper, and Google Earth
Designing ambient soundscape using Logic Pro X
Collating and editing foley sound effects and music cues
Creating all menu UI and in-game UI assets and victory certificate in Illustrator
Designing and creating logo and all promotional assets in Illustrator and Photoshop
QA testing and writing patch notes
