ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Eren Slifker, a Technical Game Designer, Game Director, and Sound Designer/Composer based in Hyde Park, Chicago. I attend the University of Chicago, studying game design and music composition. I have a deep passion for trying new things and learning new skills and practices, and I love making games that are meaningful, beautiful, and, most of all, fun.

GAMES

I've always been fascinated with how games are made. Of course, I was a huge gamer as a child (and I still am), but even since then, I have been interested in how these pieces of media and entertainment are designed and created. In my journey as a game designer, I have explored a wide variety of game experiences, media, and modes of production. I've worked on VR games, 2D platformers, 3D simulators, tabletop role-playing games, and even alternate reality games. I have worked as a game director, programmer, 3D artist, producer, sound designer, composer, and more. I'm excited to learn new game-making skills, explore design challenges, and create unforgettable and impactful game experiences.

MUSIC AND SOUND

I've been making music since I was 3 years old. I love picking up new instruments and exploring a wide range of musical genres and textures. In my personal work, I've written primarily ambient and avant-garde electronic and acoustic music. I also have a history in Jewish folk music performance and composition, and have performed in a number of concerts of Jewish folk music and queer Jewish music. I've worked as an audio engineer for a number of live musical events of various sizes, and have worked as an audio editor for a number of podcasts and benefit concerts. In games, I work as a composer for game soundtracks, and I frequently do sound design in collaboration with composers to build out the audio landscape of a game. In addition, I work as a technical sound designer, designing and implementing interactive sound systems in games and other interactive media.
